The World is Ending!!! – Please Comment
Armageddon has arrived and the human world is taking a last breath before its death rattle. We have seen it coming for a while now; we knew this day would come . . . eventually. We just didn’t think it would be like this. So sudden, so surreal, how can something like this happen in my lifetime? What makes it so frightening is the way in which it is ending. I really didn’t expect this. The centuries we thought we had left are merely days. Humanity unravels much quicker than it evolves.
People have split into two categories: the longing and the id monsters. The longing huddle together with their loved ones and soak up as much of their comfort as they possibly can before they part ways forever. The id monsters see this sort of behavior as foolish and, in turn, choose to spend their final days experiencing all of the things they ever wanted to do; the dirty things they hid away from society. Society is no more. Anarchy and nihilism win out. Hedonism is the occupation of the day.
What I’m asking of you is how is the world ending? We lived through Y2K, June 6, 2006, and now we face 2012, the year the Mayans have predicted the world to end. Horror isn’t so much worried that the world is ending. It is, however, interested in how it’s going to end. Is it an angry, judgmental deity coming to Earth and smiting the imperfect? Is it nuclear fallout? Is it greenhouse gases, lack of oxygen, starvation, zombie invasion, disease, or some other factor that will be the end of us? Please comment and let me know how the world will end . . . eventually.

What will cause the world to end? I would say apocalyptic defeatism…..or zombies. Yea, zombies created by a super antibiotic resistant flu bug would be my personal choice.

I think man will finally face a disease that he cannot cure or live through. The tiniest bugs will get us and then the earth will heal itself and evolution will kick in again.
