TRUE BLOOD GIVEAWAY!!!
Here at Mr. E’s Horror Weblog we are hosting another giveaway. Last giveaway went over so well, and we made so many new friends we knew we needed to do it again and soon. The rules are a little different for this giveaway. The way that you enter into this giveaway is to use the comment function on this post to tell me what your favorite genre films are and why. You are allowed one comment per day. Obviously the more you comment, the better chance you have to win. This giveaway will go until noon Eastern on Wednesday, October 21. Make sure that you are at least 16 years old and live in the United States or Canada.
Now after all of that preliminary claptrap, the item that is being offered is the complete set of Sookie Stackhouse novels that the phenomenal show True Blood is based on. These books are brand spanking new and will shipped to you directly at the end of the giveaway. They are exceptionally well-written and most importantly, very enjoyable. They are excellent for the hardcore vampire fan, a recreational bloodsucker, or someone who loves great thrillers and mysteries. They do a wonderful job of capturing the same humor, eeriness, and Soutnern Gothicism that the show does. Good luck to all, and I look forward to finding out what horror movies most move you.
Thank you,
E

My favorite genre is and probably always will be zombie movies. Romero scared me to death with his Night of the Living Dead and since then I’ve been hooked. I can’t think of anything scarier than something dead that gets back up and tries to eat you. Thanks for the great giveaway!
October 14th, 2009 at 13:49
Vampire movies without a doubt.Nothing like The Lost Boys, Nosferatu,The Night Stalker, Salem’s Lot…..I could go on and on.

My favorite genre is thriller movies like What Lies Beneath, I love it when something in the movie makes me shriek and jump!
October 14th, 2009 at 21:47
My favorite movie genre is action adventure. It’s a wide category and can include movies like Indiana Jones (which I love) but also some great sci-fi like The Matrix.
Thanks for the chance to enter.

My favorite genre is horror. Especially about ghosts or demons.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:36
I like Horror movies the best. I like horror movies that are unique and don’t fit into a type. Ones you have to think about that have a twist ending or ones that are just really strange.
October 15th, 2009 at 10:44
As Vampires are a symbol of sexy decadence and Werewolves are a symbol of mans wild untamed ego (also see Mr Hyde), I prefer wolfs–also love to see the transformations, it just gets better over the years. Of course, Charlaine Harris’ books have it all –hadn’t even thought much about shapeshifters. Her characters are powerful without being all powerful–keep you wondering if they will “die”
October 15th, 2009 at 10:54
Though not the popular response on this site, my absolute favorite films of all time are slices of life with a memorable soundtrack (“Love Actually”, “The Big Chill”, etc.). That being said, I’ve always had a weakness for the vamps! It started with “The Lost Boys”, reached a peak at “Interview with a Vampire” and is now blending nicely with my favorite genre as Sookie and the gang move through life to fabulous soundtracks…and lots of blood & sex!!!
October 15th, 2009 at 11:27
Horror movies are great especially ones that have vampires in them I am a big fan of the twilight series and I would love to win these books as I know the hbo series is awesome!
October 15th, 2009 at 12:45

October 15th, 2009 at 13:13

October 15th, 2009 at 13:26
Horror in general, vampires in particular! I’ve been a vamp fan since childhood. Thanks!

October 15th, 2009 at 14:07
I love Zombie films like Sean of the Dead. This is a great giveaway.
October 15th, 2009 at 14:37
I like psych thrillers-things that mess with your mind. To me, my imagination can be scarier than any movie- I just use it as a springboard into terror, lol.
October 15th, 2009 at 15:07
As much as I love watching True Blood, I would have to say my favorite genre is comedy…I love to laugh and just adore anything that makes me do it…True Blood included!
October 15th, 2009 at 16:09
My favorite is action/adventure, especially the big budget kind.

Horror in general, but specifically zombie flicks. Since the original Night Of The Living Dead, I have sought out every zombie flick I could find.
October 15th, 2009 at 22:25
My favorite genre is horror movies as well as horror books. Vampire movies are classics that are filled with tragedy, love, death and ultimate passion. I am a huge fan of the black and white horror movies also.
October 16th, 2009 at 01:25
I like horror but not deep, raw, gruesome horror. Halloween, Scream, Vampire movies, etc. are all my type of horror. I love True Blood and would love to win the book series.

October 16th, 2009 at 13:26

You can’t beat a good vampire story when it comes to horror! I really enjoy True Blood and the first Twilight movie was great, but even the old Bela Lugosi movies are great to watch.

October 16th, 2009 at 18:27
I really enjoy the comedy movies as they are so funny. I really liked the old comedy genre with actors like chris farley and john candy.
October 16th, 2009 at 18:47
Vampires are endlessly facinating and erotic so a vampire soap opera with so many twists and turns is awesome.
October 16th, 2009 at 22:08
I love this series my daughter got me hooked and started to read the books. I am having true blood withdrawals right now.
October 16th, 2009 at 23:36
Science fiction horror is probably my favorite genre. Classics like Alien, Terminator, etc.
October 17th, 2009 at 12:38
Vampire love stories are the best.
October 17th, 2009 at 14:20
My recent favorite zombie movies are 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. I find these intensely scary since I think that something like this could actually happen. As much as I love the Romero Dead movies, the 28 movies are now right up on the top of my fav zombie flicks.
October 17th, 2009 at 15:13
I am terrifically afraid of any movie about demons. But in a good way, lol.
October 17th, 2009 at 15:43
I have been into the vampire myth since I read Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
October 17th, 2009 at 15:53

I have been a huge fan of vampire books and movies for many years. ANd, the vampire love stories are fantastic. Would love to win this series.
October 18th, 2009 at 07:26
I do love the True Blood series on TV and I would love to read the books. I know that Alan Ball takes a lot of poetic license with the show so the books would still be a surprise to read.
While zombie flicks are my favorite, vampire movies come in a close second.
October 18th, 2009 at 08:28
My Favoreite Genre is and always has been Horror-To watch a Vampire suck the blood out of a beautiful woman’s neck or watch a zombie eat someone’s brains is killer.Tom Savini’s effects are awesome…it is an escape of reality that one can sink their teeth into….so to speak !
October 18th, 2009 at 09:38
My favorite genre is vampire movies. Mostly the older ones. I can remember when I was about 9 or 10 we used to have a movie feature on Saturday afternoons called Creature Feature. A lot of times they would show old Dracula movies with Bela Lugosi, Dracula, Bride of Dracula, etc. I would have to sneak and watch these movies at a friends house and then at night would be too afraid to go into my room without my mom being with me to check the closet, under the bed, etc. Then she knew what I had been up to earlier in the day……..I am 51 years old and I still love those old vampire movies, but I don’t have to check under my bed anymore, at least not every night……hehehe.
October 18th, 2009 at 10:26
Action/Adventure that keeps rolling. Excitement from start to finish.
October 18th, 2009 at 11:11
I think the reason that science fiction horror is my favorite is probably because when I was little my grandmother was a big fan of the genre. I’d stay with her on weekends and during the summer, and we’d stay up late and watch movies like “The Blob” and “Creature from the Black Lagoon”, and television shows like “The Twilight Zone” and “Star Trek”.
October 18th, 2009 at 13:58
My favorite is still vampire love stories as they are creepy and sexy at the same time just the same as True Blood.
October 18th, 2009 at 15:25

October 18th, 2009 at 17:42
I like the horror genre but not the in your face gore fests like Saw which are much to graphic and intense for me. I like a little sizzle with my bloodletting.

Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<
October 18th, 2009 at 19:43
I love horror comedies the best. I like horror that isn’t all gore. It has a touch of humor. The Supernatural Series (and the True Blood) ones says it best. I’m not looking for belly laughs, just something that reminds us that this is the real world and you have to not be so Drama Llama about it all.
October 18th, 2009 at 22:14
